New House

So we were actually able to sign the papers on the house on Friday! Something we thought was not going to happen and we were so nervous about it, and all that praying from all over the country practically, paid off! Praise the Lord! We started painting this weekend. The only part about the house, it's only 2 years old, and has been abandoned practically the whole time, so it's not like things are worn out at all! All the appliances are new and everything... it's just bugs (dead ones, and a couple of dead lizards, ew!) and dust, we really have to work to get all that out. Plus, the walls were never painted any color, they were just left white, so we have to go through and do the whole house, if we want anything other than white, which obviously we do. The good thing, Bertito's brother Juni came over to help paint. He used to paint houses for a living, so he's really good. They got almost the whole house done, which is a LOT of work, it's a lot of walls!!! I cleaned the kitchen while they did that, so we are pretty much ready to move in next weekend. I have a lot of packing to do! And I have to watch Kairi while I'm packing! It's hard work so far. But definitely worth it. The picture above is the living room set that I want to get, (now we have 2 living rooms!) but we can't find it anywhere. They sell it at Ashley, but it was all sold out and discontinued... :( Wasn't it cute though???

Sittin' Pretty

Here is Kairi sitting up on the bed like a big girl. She gets mad now if she's not either sitting up, or standing. She needs help though. A pillow either needs to be propping her up, or I have to hold her to help her stand. She absoletly will not crawl. She refuses! But Amy told me (along with a few other people) that she did not crawl either. She actually said she was sitting one day, tired of bouncing up and down, and just got up. I'm pretty sure that's what Kairi will do.
We're supposed to be signing paper work on the house today, but everything keeps getting delayed, it's really frustrating. I haven't even started packing yet! I guess because of all the delays... but hopefully Susan will be able to come over when it's time to pack and we can have a packing party!

Can she walk?

Here is a picture of Kairi having so much fun trying to walk... well she doesn't actually try. She just really likes to stand up. If you try to bend her, she will NOT bend her legs at all. You know the dance in the Wizard of Oz from the tin man, where he starts tilting all over the place, but does not bend, well... Kairi does that. If you move her to the sides, she just leans to the sides. Backwards, forwards, she will not bend for nothing. If you put her to sit down after a while, she gets really mad. She doesn't move her feet while she's standing, I try to get to her walk, but she can't grasp the concept I guess. If I try to make her crawl, she will not do it either. She just starts crying. I think she will be walking before she can crawl.

Cutest Baby in the Whole Wide World

Here is Kairi at the mall so excited to go shopping!!! We went to a party at Bertito's mom this weekend for Dia de Tres Reyes. Although I kept asking where the box of grass was for the camels, everyone seemed to have a blast. We wound up getting home at like 2 am. One of the neighbors actually called the cops on us because of the loud music, but when they came, they saw we were just celebrating the holiday, and actually said to Bertito, "Yes, someone actually called the cops on you guys... and yes they were actually Puerto Rican also. But it's not like I'm going to do anything about it. I just had to come out here." So pretty much PARTY ON! Titi Susan got Kairi a gorgeous piggy bank with her name on it! It's SOOO cute! I'm putting money in it already.

Well Wishers Only

Kairi got a gift from her Abuela for Christmas. It's a bracelet called an Asabache and it's a tradition in Puerto Rico. It's from the African part of the island, and you can tell from the black fist charm that is in the middle of the bracelet. It protects babies from people who wish bad things against them. I'm pretty sure I know who it was who was wishing bad things on her... but Kairi is protected now. Since she has been wearing it, her hair has been growing in very thick and fast. I believe that someone was wishing bad things on her maybe because she is so beautiful, or maybe because she even exists. But like I said, I'm pretty sure I know who it was, and let me just say, shame on you; and what goes around comes around. And if you are reading this, and wishing bad things against me or my baby, why the HELL are you reading this?? LOL Another thing, if you really don't like me, why don't we just cut the crap, be adults and you can stop claiming to be my friend?

Titi Iris

Here is Kairi with Titi Iris and her Abuela at Abuela's house a couple of days ago. This dress was a gift from Titi Iris and she looked like a little doll in it. Or Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz! She just needed a little dog and pigtails! What a cutie pie. We had a lot of fun at Abuela's. A lot of the family was there, and we danced, drank, the boys all played video games. Kairi had fun hanging out with her Grammy. This was the day before Grammy left, so she was in her arms the whole time.

New Years Eve

This year was the first real New Years party I have even been to. It was at Bertito's friend from work's house Tony and wife Maritza. They have a big beautiful house and there was a TON of people there, they were all relatives of Tony's or Maritza's. It was fun, we danced, drank, ate delicious food and Kairi was such a good girl all night. She went to sleep in my arms at one point in the evening, and then we put her in one of the bedrooms with the baby monitor. Then about 2 minutes until midnight, she actually woke up! So I went to get here and she was able to get New Years kisses all around. Like I said before, I've never went out for New Years, this was my first time. But it was a blast, so we are definately going to be making this a tradition. The picture is of her in her pretty New Years dress. My mom brought it for her for the party.
